Fire in east Las Vegas damages mobile home
August 6, 2013 - 6:40 am
A mobile home fire on the east side of the valley caused $50,000 in damages on Monday night.
The fire, reported at 7:20 p.m., was at the Desert Inn Mobile Estates, near Nellis Boulevard and Twain Avenue. Fire crews found a double-wide mobile home with heavy smoke coming from the back.
Moderate winds and a large amount of furniture inside the home made the fire more difficult to put out, according to Clark County Fire Department deputy chief Erik Newman.
Personnel from the Clark County and Las Vegas fire departments were able to put out the fire in about 20 minutes.
Investigators concluded the cause of the fire was carelessly discarded smoking materials. No one was injured in the fire.
