Girl run over by truck dies

A girl died Wednesday after a furniture delivery truck ran over her near Boulder Highway and Racetrack Road, Henderson police said.

Authorities identified the girl as Jennifer Rose Brower, 4, of Henderson. Police said truck driver Yosief Kifle, 35, was driving down Spotted Eagle Street about 5:45 p.m. to make a delivery when he made a U-turn in the street and was slowing to a stop.

Three children were standing on the street, including Jennifer, who ran out into the street without looking and hit her head on the side of the trailer, police said. She fell under the truck and was run over by its right rear tires.

Authorities took Jennifer to St. Rose de Lima Hospital, but she died from her injuries.

Police did not cite Kifle.
