Henderson accepts offer from industrial park developers

The Henderson City Council voted Tuesday to accept an offer from a consortium of developers to purchase about 150 acres near Henderson Executive Airport for $13.6 million.

South 15 Partners LLC and the city next will enter into negotiations for a land sale agreement.

The developers plan to build a 2 million-square-foot industrial park. The South15 Airport Center would be a joint venture between Mike Dean, owner of M.J. Dean Construction; Terry Manley, owner of New West Co.; and Doug Roberts, partner at Panattoni Development.

Henderson, which acquired the land from the Bureau of Land Management, will not receive proceeds from the sale. The money will go to the BLM fund established by the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act of 1998.
