A 25-year-old Henderson man might have drowned after he went missing early Sunday morning on the Arizona side of Lake Mohave, National Park Service officials said.
The park service identified the man as Andre Battle. He was not wearing a life jacket.
According to the park service, Battle was last seen swimming near Arizona Bay at about 11 a.m.
A witness said he was in the water when he was heard saying he couldn't breathe. The witness turned away briefly, and when she turned back, Battle was missing.
Park rangers and the Nevada Department of Wildlife game wardens began their search for Battle at noon and continued until 5 p.m., when the search was suspended.
Park service officials said Battle and his group took a boat from Cottonwood Cove to Arizona Bay.
Battle was in the water two or three minutes before he was heard struggling.
The water depth in the area where he was last seen ranges from 80 to 100 feet, park service officials said.
Rangers will continue searching for Battle's body.
