EVENT TO FEATURE CONSULTATIONS ON FINANCIAL ISSUES

Henderson Financial Planning Day is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway.

The free event is is expected to include private consultations on financial issues such as budgeting, credit and debt, taxes, investing, insurance, retirement and home ownership.

CHURCHES TO HOST SCOUTING DAY EVENT

The Henderson Lake Mead Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Henderson Presbyterian Church are scheduled to host a scouting-themed event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 19 at the LDS church, 303 S. Cholla St.

The free event is open to boys ages 8 to 18 and is expected to include activities such as archery, rock climbing, pioneering and Dutch oven cooking.

Lunch is scheduled to be provided.

WOMEN’S CLUB TO HOST HALLOWEEN PARTY

The Desert Newcomers Club is scheduled to host its Halloween lunch at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 16 at Carrabba’s Italian Grill, 10160 S. Eastern Ave.

The club is a networking group for women new to the area. The event is expected to include a costume contest.
