Homicide investigates woman’s death in eastern Las Vegas Valley

Metro’s homicide unit is investigating the death of a 24-year-old woman who apparently got into a fight with her boyfriend, then suffered some sort of medical episode on the east side of the Las Vegas Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Lt. Ken Romane, a swing shift commander, said firefighters responded to a medical call at Silverwood Apartments in the vicinity of South Nellis Boulevard and East Vegas Valley Drive at 2:27 p.m.

When they arrived, however, Romane said firefighters “didn’t like what they saw” and called police to the scene.

“Things were suspicious,” Romane said.

The woman was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 5:38 p.m.

Romane said the couple lived together inside building No. 6.

The woman’s name will be released after kin are notified. The Clark County coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
