Hoover Dam bridge to have closures starting Tuesday
The Nevada Department of Transportation will implement a rolling closure for the sidewalk on the Hoover Dam bypass bridge from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday .
The closure is part of a routine bridge safety inspection, completed on a biennial basis. The inspection will begin on the Arizona side, prompting the closure of the Arizona side of the sidewalk. During this time, the Nevada portion of the sidewalk - or roughly half of the sidewalk - will remain open.
As the inspection moves to the Nevada side, the entire bridge sidewalk will close. The entire sidewalk will be open during off-project hours.
In addition, lane restrictions coming into and leaving Nevada will be in place during the project. Traffic control devices and personnel will be in place, and motorists are advised to heed them.
