iPhone hunting

This just in... from my son Ben, who is on a mission to buy a new iPhone. He was heading at about 1:30 p.m. to the Apple Store in the Town Square shopping center. He reports a four-hour wait at the Fashion Show Mall Apple Store, and was told by an employee that all AT&T stores in the valley have run out of the 3G iPhones.

I've decided to hold off on purchasing the new phone, as the device is getting mixed reviews. It still lacks some features I desire, including a video capture mode. Word is the battery life on the new phone is shorter, and there is still no way for the user to swap batteries. I'm sticking with my Treo 680 a while longer... maybe until the next iPhone upgrade.
