A Clark County jury will need at least another day to think over comedian George Wallace’s multimillion-dollar personal injury lawsuit against the Bellagio.
Jurors have heard two weeks of testimony in the case. They started deliberating Friday and plan to head into third day starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Wallace, a 66-year-old headliner at the Flamingo, was performing at a private party at the Strip resort in December 2007 when his Achilles tendon ruptured.
He claimed his foot became entangled in loose electrical wires on the stage, but Bellagio attorneys say Wallace had a pre-existing injury that led to a “spontaneous” rupture of his tendon.
Wallace filed a negligence lawsuit in November 2009, seeking more than $7 million in lost earnings and damages from the casino and HSBC Card Services Inc., who sponsored the private event.
He has since has reached an undisclosed settlement with HSBC.
