Las Vegas man faces murder charge in connection with girlfriend’s death

A Las Vegas man faces a murder charge following the weekend death of his girlfriend, according to police.

Las Vegas police booked Edward Edgerton, 26, into Clark County Detention Center on one count of murder, according to an arrest report . His girlfriend, 24-year-old Tyanna Reynolds, was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center on Saturday.

Edgerton told police he called 911 after finding his girlfriend unconscious in the shower in the 3000 block of South Nellis Boulevard. Edgerton and Reynolds had fought earlier in the day, according to police. Edgerton told investigators he and Reynolds sometimes spanked each other for “messing up.” He said he had hit her 15 to 20 times with a belt as punishment for talking on the phone to her ex-boyfriend.

The Clark County Coroner’s office ruled Reynolds’s death a homicide and said she died of multiple blunt force injuries and assault. She also had internal bleeding from a tear in her liver.
