Las Vegas man killed in traffic accident

A 35-year-old Las Vegas man died early Saturday morning after he drove into oncoming traffic on Tropicana Avenue at Palm Street.

Las Vegas police said the unidentified man failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign.

He was trying to turn left from northbound Palm Street to westbound Tropicana Avenue when his 1983 Chevrolet Cavalier was hit on the driver's side by a vehicle traveling eastbound in the center lane.

He died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. According to Las Vegas police, this is the 59th traffic-related fatality this year.
