Low-speed chase delays I-15 traffic near California-Nevada border

A low-speed chase delayed traffic on southbound Interstate 15 near Nipton Road Tuesday.

California Highway Patrol officers were conducting a traffic stop on southbound I-15 about 4 p.m. when the vehicle refused to stop, according to Loy Hixson, spokesman for Nevada Highway Patrol. The chase shut down the highway, which reopened at 4:46 p.m.

The car continued to travel on I-15 at about 15 mph and exited the highway at Cima Road, about 20 miles southwest of the California-Nevada border.

The car eventually came to a stop and two people were taken into custody, Hixson said.
