Man charged in shooting death of daughter, 29

WINNEMUCCA — A 54-year-old Humboldt County man has been charged with murder in the death of his adult daughter at a home north of Winnemucca.

Undersheriff Curtiss Kull says Leo Hunter Jr. was arrested after the shooting of Lenore Warren, 29, on Sunday at the home off of U.S. Highway 95.

Kull says Hunter’s grandchildren were present at the time.

Deputies responded after receiving a 911 call reporting a shooting.

Hunter originally was booked into the Humboldt Count Jail on charges ranging from assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery, to child endangerment and battery causing substantial bodily harm.

Kull says the murder charge was added on Monday after Warren died.
