Man convicted of killing his wife in 2008

A jury late Monday convicted a 30-year-old man of first-degree murder for killing his wife in 2008.

The Clark County jury convicted Clifford McClain of slaying his wife, Allainna McClain, in February 2008 and of two counts of battery domestic violence.

The jury returned the verdict a little before 10 p.m., said a court official.

McClain had claimed he killed his wife in self-defense.
