Man indicted in 1995 slaying

A 47-year-old man was indicted Friday in the 1995 rape and strangulation of a woman whose body was found in an empty lot on Bonanza Road.

The indictment charges Wilbert Bryant with murder, sexual assault and first-degree kidnapping. Clark County Detention Center records show that he was arrested Feb. 23 and is being held without bail.

Bryant is accused of raping and strangling Cora Collar, 54, around Sept. 24, 1995. He is scheduled to appear for an arraignment March 15 .

According to District Court records, Bryant was serving a sentence in Utah when he was located. DNA testing was done and matched samples taken from the victim , according to the records.
