Thunderbird F-16 jets and officers in uniform on Nellis Air Force Base at the biennial Nellis Air Show. The show had more than 130,000 in attendance, one of the largest crowds in the base’s history on May 3, 1987. This show is dedicated to the bicentennial of the United States Constitution and Armed Forces Day. The show gave the base personnel a chance to show off their expertise and the reason they have been consistently named as a top installation in the Tactical Air Command and throughout the Air Force. The highlight of the show was the Thunderbird Aerial Demonstration Squadron which is based out of Nellis. Also at the show were Navy and Marine Corp planes, Army and Marine Corps helicopters, demonstrations of weapons loading techniques, drill team excercises and cockpit layouts of the base’s F-15 Eagles and F-16 Fighting Falcons.
