Peggy Kearns makes her debut as director of the Veterans Affairs Southern Nevada Healthcare System during a town hall meeting 4 p.m. Wednesday at the North Las Vegas VA Medical Center.

She will appear on a panel to field questions from veterans and discuss health care and related benefits issues. She began her new post in December after transferring from the VA Medical Center in Saginaw, Mich. She replaces Isabel Duff, who retired May 1 after a 20-month stint in Southern Nevada.

The meeting, which is open to veterans and their family members, runs through 5:30 p.m., in the auditorium of Building No. 1 at the VA Medical Center, 6900 N. Pecos Road, North Las Vegas.
