Motorcycle officer hospitalized following crash

The Las Vegas motorcycle officer struck by a vehicle Wednesday night remains hospitalized this morning, although his injuries are not life threatening, police confirmed.

Evidence at the scene indicates a Jeep, eastbound on Sahara, hit the officer from behind as both vehicles traveled in the left passing lane.

The driver of the Jeep, 34-year-old Dana Saunders, was arrested for DUI with substantial bodily harm.

The officer, a 45-year-old male, was not identified.
