Motorcyclist killed in crash on Las Vegas Beltway identified

A motorcyclist who died this weekend after being struck on the Las Vegas Beltway by a suspected drunken driver was identified Tuesday by the Clark County coroner's office as 47-year-old Dale Robert Criske of Wildomar, Calif.

Criske was pronounced dead at the scene after the collision about 4:30 a.m. Saturday on the soutbound Beltway approaching Ann Road.

The Nevada Highway Patrol said Silvano Rodriguez of Las Vegas was driving a Nissan Armada sport-utility vehicle when he swerved across both lanes of northbound traffic and into a motorcycle Criske was driving with a female passenger.

The woman sustained critical injuries but was expected to survive, according to the Highway Patrol.

Trooper Kevin Honea said Rodriguez failed a field sobriety test and was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence. Blood test results won't be released for four to six weeks.
