Motorcyclist who died in Saturday crash identified

A motorcycle rider who died early Saturday morning near Oakey and Martin Luther King boulevards has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Trenton Gleaton, 21, suffered blunt force trauma to his head and torso during the wreck, which is listed as an accident. The coroner’s office could not determine his city of residence.

Las Vegas police said Gleaton was traveling at a high rate of speed on a 2014 Kawasaki EX250 sport motorcycle when he rode onto the sidewalk and struck a light pole.

The motorcycle burst into flames, and despite the efforts of passers-by, who dragged the burning man from the wreckage, he later died at University Medical Center.
