At least one dead in possible gang fight at Denver motorcycle event

At least one person is dead and numerous others were wounded in what could have been a gang fight at a motorcycle exposition at the Denver Coliseum on Saturday afternoon, police said.

No one was in custody as a result of the multiple shootings and one stabbing at the Colorado Motorcycle Expo, police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez told reporters. One person was being questioned.

Asked by a reporter what motorcycle gang may have been involved, Lopez said that was under investigation. She said this was not a "mass casualty" event.

Denver Health, a healthcare organization, tweeted that nine people were being transported to area hospitals. Conditions were not immediately available.

A witness who asked to remain anonymous due to fear of retaliation told the Denver Post newspaper that the fight was started by rival biker gangs.
