Ex-LAPD cop accused of murder arrested in Mexico

A former rookie officer with the Los Angeles Police Department accused of killing a man in March after a fight in a bar has been arrested in Mexico, police said.
Henry Solis, 27, was an officer at the time of the fatal shooting of Salome Rodriguez Jr., 23. Rodriguez was shot multiple times on March 13 near multiple nightclubs in Pomona, 35 miles east of Los Angeles.
A week after the incident, Solis was fired from his job and could not be found. Police believed he fled to Mexico with the help of his father.
Reuters reported in March Solis’ father, Victor, had told police he drove Solis to El Paso and dropped him off at a bus station. His father was arrested sometime after, KTLA reported, for charges related to the homicide and for lying to a federal agent.
“I believe there is probable cause to believe that defendant (Henry) Solis fled the state of California with the intent to avoid prosecution for the crime of murder,” FBI agent Scott Garriola wrote in a March affidavit.
Details of Henry Solis’ arrest were not immediately known.
