The family of a 1-year-old California boy reported missing Monday said he was safe hours after a statewide Amber Alert was issued, KTLA reported.
Jayden Nathaniel Santiago was taken from San Pedro after his father attacked the boy’s mother and her boyfriend at home, according to the California Highway Patrol on their Facebook page.
Police said the suspect, 37-year-old Giovany Santiago-Enriquez, went to his ex-girlfriend’s house at around 1:30 a.m. Monday and stabbed her boyfriend before fleeing with Jayden, over whom he has legal custody. He and Jayden have not been seen or heard from since. Santiago-Enriquez has made suicidal threats and attempted suicide in the past, according to police.
Santiago-Enriquez is considered armed and dangerous, and could be traveling to Washington, Oregon or Mexico, where he knows people, police said. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, black sweater, black pants and gray and black Nike shoes.
Santiago-Enriquez was last seen driving a gray 2006 Nissan Altima with California plate number 5UCF010. Anyone with information should call 911.
