Fox News’ Jarrett pleads guilty

MINNEAPOLIS — A Fox News weekend anchor pleaded guilty Friday to disorderly conduct following after a May arrest at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in which a police video showed he struggled with officers.

Gregg Jarrett, 59, entered his plea by petition and didn’t appear in Hennepin County District Court. His attorney didn’t immediately return a message seeking comment.

Airport spokesman Patrick Hogan said Jarrett’s plea was put on hold for a year and will be thrown out if he doesn’t commit the same or similar offenses and if he abides by certain conditions. Among them, Jarrett can have no alcohol or drug offenses and he must complete treatment.

Jarrett was arrested May 21 after police received a report of an intoxicated customer at an airport restaurant. The police report said he had just gotten out of an alcohol and chemical dependency treatment facility, and had prescription drugs in his pocket.

Fox News did not immediately return emails seeking comment Friday. At the time of his arrest, Fox News released a statement saying Jarrett was dealing with serious personal issues.
