Here’s what the day after Brown protests looks like — PHOTOS

Violent protests broke out in Missouri following the grand jury’s decision not to indict a white police officer who fatally shot an unarmed, black teenager on August 9, 2014.

Thousands waited in the streets across the U.S. and in Ferguson on Monday, and responded with shouts of anger, smashing windows and setting fire to businesses and cars. When daylight broke, about a dozen businesses had been severely damaged or destroyed.

Here’s what has happened so far:

  • 61 arrests made in Ferguson overnight — most burglary/trespassing
  • 21 arrests made in St. Louis — property damage
  • 14 people with protest-related injuries in St. Louis
  • Hundreds of gunshots heard
