Concert benefits UNLV scholarships

Does anyone really count them? After 22 years, there's a trust level that the annual "76 Trombones + 4" will deliver all 80 horns today to raise money for UNLV music scholarships.

The concert offers standards, jazz and classical pieces, with guest performers from Tokyo, New York and Salt Lake City. General admission is $10 for the 2 p.m. show at Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. Call 739-3267.

You don't have to wait until Christmas to hear Clay Aiken sing holiday favorites as part of the Capital One Holiday Celebration on Ice, which tapes Tuesday at the Orleans Arena for a Christmas day broadcast on NBC.

Sasha Cohen headlines the skating cast of the 7:30 p.m. show at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave. Tickets are $35-$100; call 284-7777.
