RENO — A 72-year-old woman was arraigned today on charges that she stabbed her elderly husband up to 200 times in a rage at their Lake Tahoe home.
According to the warrant charging Mary Baymiller of Incline Village with the October murder, the rage was possibly motivated by her mental anguish over her husband's onset of dementia and worries about money.
Deputies found 73-year-old Charles Baymiller dead on his bed, while his wife was lying on her stomach with superficial wounds that appeared to be self-inflicted. Several kitchen knives were found in the couple's bedroom
Mary Baymiller was returned to Reno on Wednesday following her extradition from Fresno, Calif., where she has a second home.
The couple's son told deputies that his mother was having panic attacks and nervous breakdowns because of her husband's condition.
