Northern Nevada inmate with chronic medical condition dies

A Northern Nevada inmate serving time for sexual assault died Saturday, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

John Leipold, 54, died from a chronic medical condition at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center. He was sentenced to consecutive sentences of 10 years to life in 1999 after being charged with two counts of sexual assault.
