Ohio mom’s lawyer notes school brawl story changes

CINCINNATI — Two prosecution witnesses in the trial of an Ohio woman accused of helping her teenage daughter beat up a fellow student have offered testimony that the defense says contradicts their earlier statements.

Thirty-one-year-old Precious Allen is on trial in Cincinnati, accused of punching a 15-year-old student and holding her down while her daughter, then 14, hit the girl.

Testimony Thursday from the two teenage witnesses painted Allen and her daughter as the instigators of the Feb. 7 fight at Withrow High School. But defense attorney Eric Deters pointed out their earlier handwritten statements to police that said the 15-year-old student hit Allen first.

Allen maintains the girl started the fight, and had been bullying her daughter for some time. She has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor assault and trespassing.
