Paris Hilton says she likes single life

Paris Hilton is heading for the World Cup, where she may be competing for more than headlines with rival Kim Kardashian.

The former best friends have both been romantically linked to soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo of heavily favored Portugal.

Hilton indicated she plans to stay in South Africa for the full month, promoting her brand, going on safari and ogling soccer's hottest stars.

Judging from her response, Hilton doesn't sound concerned about recent reports that Kardashian and Ronaldo were having a cozy time together in Madrid in mid-April.

There have been published reports that Hilton and Ronaldo have stayed in touch since a rumored tryst in Los Angeles last June.

Interestingly, both Hilton and Kardashian have split from longtime boyfriends, which puts them among the world's most eligible bachelorettes at World Cup time.

Hilton's says she's definitely unattached.

"One hundred percent single and I'm really enjoying it. I've never been single in my life and I've never been happier," said Hilton, who recently had a nasty split with Doug Reinhardt.

"I got some bad people out of my life, people who were using me and had bad intentions. There are so many opportunists out there. I cut those people out," she said.

She's a regular at UFC events. "I love it. UFC and boxing. I'm a tomboy at heart."

She's never been busier. She's working on a "top secret" TV show. "We just finished casting it." She was just in New York for her first assignment as the new celebrity ambassador for the United Service Organizations, a private, nonprofit organization that provides morale and recreational services to members of the U.S. military.

Next month she's unveiling her latest fragrance, Tease, one of her 17 product lines.

Asked if she was any closer to getting into the celebrity restaurant venture in Las Vegas, she said, "I've been offered many times. I've seen spaces at different hotels, but it was never the right fit.

"I'm looking for someone I could work with and trust. Las Vegas would be perfect for Paris destinations. I have so much fun here I want to move here."
