Pistons’ Plaisted not a fan favorite

Every year, players who should stay in college instead opt for early entry into the NBA Draft. Trent Plaisted, a 6-foot-11-inch forward from Brigham Young, falls into that category.

Plaisted made the jump to the draft after his junior year, despite not even dominating in the Mountain West Conference. He slipped to the second round, where he was picked 46th by Seattle and traded to Detroit.

Plaisted was serenaded by chants of “BYU sucks” and “Rebels” during the Pistons’ game against the Clippers at Cox Pavilion. His stat line in the first half was unimpressive: two points, three rebounds and two turnovers in 12 minutes.
