Pitt-Jolie children go for zombie toy
Brad Pitt and his family have caught zombie fever.
A day after promoting his zombie movie, “World War Z,” at the CinemaCon convention at Caesars Palace, Pitt was seen buying a remote control zombie during a family shopping outing.
Pitt told the theater owners convention at Caesars Palace that “this whole thing started because I just wanted to do a film that my boys could see before they turned 18 — one that they would like, anyways. And they love a zombie.”
That was evident from the reaction Tuesday when Pitt, his wife, Angelina Jolie, and four of their six children found the remote control zombie at Bonanza Gifts at Sahara and Las Vegas Boulevard South.
“They were having a ball,” said manager Angie Hurt, who admitted to being starstruck.
“I’ve been there 28 years and seen lot of stars, but Brad Pitt was a milestone,” she added.
Jolie visited the store in December 2011 during the week of Pitt’s 48th birthday, and bought him a 100-ounce beer drinking cup. The kids got a flash-frozen rattlesnake head, among other souvenirs.
During their 45-minute noon shopping spree on Tuesday, Pitt, Jolie and their kids, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox, bought everything from toys, trinkets and snow globes, to a monkey backpack and wall items.
The shopping spree included a jewelry box in the shape of the Great Pyramid of Giza and a giant sushi pillow.
Pitt was adamant he didn’t want any photos to be taken.
They left in a party bus, which was later seen parked across the street outside the Strip Gun Club, a popular celebrity destination.
Pitt and Jolie, whose relationship began while filming the shoot-’em-up film “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” reportedly have a gun range in their home.
GREAT SCOTT
Adam Scott’s dramatic Masters win — the first by an Australian — set off victory celebrations in Las Vegas on Sunday.
His former UNLV teammate and roommate, Jeremy Anderson, said, “I was in tears, so happy for him.”
Anderson was a junior at UNLV when Scott and his father made a recruiting visit in 1998. Anderson served as host.
“He was staying at my house. I took him over to the Desert Inn, and the first time I saw him swing a club I thought I was watching the spitting image of Tiger’s swing.
“I was like ‘holy insert word.’ I called our assistant coach and said, ‘I’m sure glad he’s on our team.’ ”
Scott joined the Rebels program months after UNLV won the NCAA national championship in May 1998. He finished 11th in the 1999 NCAA championships, highest on the team.
Also celebrating Scott’s win was Aussie Clint Scott, dance captain of Thunder From Down Under, whose members headline at Excalibur.
The Scotts are not related, but the Las Vegas performer, a golf fanatic, said, “I’ll claim him.” He has performed with the group for eight years.
