Plea entered in child porn case

RENO -- A veteran Washoe County sheriff's deputy has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.

Paul Kistner, 36, resigned from the sheriff's office last month when he was arrested after his wife installed Internet spyware on his computer and alerted authorities.

Kistner faces up to six years in prison when sentenced in November by District Judge Robert Perry.

Probation is a possibility if an evaluation determines there's no risk of his committing continued sexual crimes.

He pleaded guilty Wednesday and is free on bond.
