Police seek man who tried to rob store in downtown Las Vegas
Las Vegas police asked for the public’s help Tuesday in investigating an attempted robbery at a downtown convenience store that happened in March .
The botched robbery happened March 18 near Las Vegas Boulevard and Bonanza Road, but police did not release the details of the crime, including the name of the store where it happened.
Surveillance images released Tuesday show a man wearing a sports coat, bow tie and a fedora who police say went into the store just after 9 a.m. He approached the cashier as if he were making a purchase. When the register opened, he reached over the counter and tried to take money from it, police said.
He did not get any cash, but he hit the clerk in the head before running out.
Police said the man is between the ages of 25 and 35 years old, stands about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds.
