Police: Two who posed as firefighters sought in theft

Two men posing as Clark County firefighters stole two flat-screen TVs from an apartment complex gym earlier this month and Las Vegas police want to know who they are.

On Jan. 9, two men donning county Fire Department T-shirts, pants and boots and carrying radios, stole the TVs from the apartment complex near Flamingo Road and Cambridge Street, police officer Barbara Morgan said.

Nobody was in the gym at the time of the theft but it was caught on surveillance video.

Morgan said the men do not work for the Fire Department.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. when one man served as a lookout and the other removed the TVs from the wall. The men then left in a burgundy or dark red Chevrolet or Ford pickup.

Anyone with information about the theft is encouraged to contact police at 828-3267 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
