Political events crowd weekend calendar in Southern Nevada

Politics will be front and center Saturday in Southern Nevada, with political events in Las Vegas, Henderson and Searchlight.

In Las Vegas, former Vice President Al Gore will headline the Clark County Democratic Party's Jefferson-Jackson Dinner at 8:15 p.m. at the Rio. The event will also feature Sen. Harry Reid and Reps. Dina Titus and Shelley Berkley, all D-Nev., among others.

Ticket prices range from $30 for a single theater ticket to $1,150 for a single VIP dinner and reception ticket. More information is available at www.clarkdems.com.

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter is scheduled to speak at the Henderson Pavilion at 3:45 p.m.

The biggest event in the region is the Tea Party rally in Searchlight at noon. It will feature former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and is open to the public. Information is at www.teapartyexpress.org.
