Power restored to about 10,000 residents

About 10,000 Las Vegas residents were without power in the areas near Desert Inn Road and Valley View Boulevard on Friday morning.

Power to all customers was restored at approximately 6:50 a.m. According to NV Energy, the outage was caused by an equipment failure at the substation located near Valley View Boulevard and Flamingo Road.

The power outage started about 6 a.m., NV Energy said, and crews were immediately sent to investigate the cause.
