Elvis tribute artist James Rompel lives on the edge of Desert Rose Golf Course. He lost a collection of costumes, musical equipment and memorabilia on Sept. 11, 2012. Clark County Regional Flood Control District General Manager Gale Fraser said the rainfall pattern contributed to the flood more than anything else. Fraser said, "The storm moved across the valley from west to east so that it was raining on top of the runoff."
