Rose petals signal marriage proposal for TV co-anchors
Nothing spells out romance like a sunset and roses.
KSNV-TV, Channel 3, co-anchors Jim Snyder and Jessica Moore got engaged Sunday while viewing a sunset from a suite at Red Rock Resort.
At their feet were petals from 100 white roses forming the words: "Jessica Will You Marry Me."
Snyder went to a knee and popped the question. She said yes.
"She's big on sunsets," said Snyder by telephone Friday.
"I'm an East Coast girl," said Moore, after a day of jury duty. "West Coast sunsets are still so special to me."
They were unofficially engaged in May, with a promise ring, but Snyder made it official Sunday.
He set it up by saying they were having a glass of wine at Red Rock Resort, but Snyder had arranged a suite scenario.
A female Red Rock host who was in on it approached them and asked whether they would like to check out a new VIP suite.
Moore went along it, but, Snyder said, "she thought it was 'hinky,' like it might be a time-share pitch."
When they walked into the suite, Moore melted when she saw the rose petal proposal, which led to a picture window.
"That's when I started crying," she said.
Snyder suggested they head for a drive-thru wedding chapel. "It will be sooner than later," Moore said.
The ring features a 3-carat diamond surrounded by 52 smaller ones.
