Scuba diver dies at Lake Mead

A man died while scuba diving in Lake Mead on Saturday morning, according to the National Park Service.

The man was diving with a group near Kingman Wash on the Arizona side of the lake just north of the Hoover Dam.

Witnesses said the diver was unresponsive when he surfaced from a dive around 9 a.m. Individuals on a nearby boat performed CPR and transported the man to emergency personnel at Hemenway Harbor in the Lake Mead Recreation Area, according to the Park Service.

The man was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m. His identity will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.

His cause of death was under investigation.
