Son of ‘Mafia Cop’ guilty of drug charges

A jury convicted the son of “Mafia Cop” Louis Eppolito Tuesday on federal drug trafficking charges.

Anthony Eppolito and co-defendant Guido Bravatti were each convicted of distributing methamphetamine and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine after the weeklong trial in Las Vegas, said Natalie Collins, spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney’s office.

The charges stemmed from the federal investigation of Louis Eppolito and Stephen Caracappa, who were convicted in 2006 of carrying out hits for the Lucchese crime family while working for the New York Police Department.

Both men moved to Las Vegas in the early 1990s after retiring.
