Stewie dubbed world’s longest domestic cat after his death

RENO — The Reno feline that was named the longest living domestic cat while he was alive has claimed another record after his death.

Owner Robin Hendrickson told the Reno Gazette-Journal that the Guinness Book of World Records has certified Stewie was the longest domestic cat ever.

Stewie was a Maine Coon cat that measured 48.5 inches long from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail in August 2010. Hendrickson adopted him as a kitten in 2005, and he died Feb. 4 after a battle with cancer.

Stewie served as a therapy cat that often visited a Reno senior center.
