Strong winds, chance of rain coming to Las Vegas Valley this weekend

Get ready for some cooler, windier weather -- and a chance of rain. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the western foothills of the Las Vegas Valley between noon and 6 p.m. Saturday.

Expect southwest winds from 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph. The strongest winds are expected between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The strongest winds will affect Summerlin, the Lone Mountain area, Centennial Hills, Mountains Edge, Blue Diamond and the 215 beltway.

Tomorrow's high is expected to hit 60, with an overnight low of 47. There's a 40 percent chance of rain in the valley. For the Mount Charleston area, there's a chance of snow, with accumulations up to 3 inches.
