Transition team is expected to meet three times

CARSON CITY -- Gov.-elect Brian Sandoval on Monday named a transition team of 29 Nevadans who will advise him on several issues.

Members of the team include Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki, Bill Bible, former president of the Nevada Resort Association and an ex-state budget director, and state Sen. Dean Rhoads, a Republican from Tuscarora who supported tax increases in the 2009 and 2003 sessions and backed Democrat Harry Reid for U.S. Senate.

"I want to thank each and every member of the transition advisory team for stepping forward and agreeing to help me get Nevada working again," Sandoval said in a statement. He will take office Jan. 3.

The team is expected to meet three times and assign members to committees that will provide additional input.

The panel's first meeting, on Monday, was closed. Its next meeting, on Dec. 15, could be closed too.

Gov. Jim Gibbons appointed a transition team numbering in the hundreds before he took office in 2007.

Other transition team members are the following:

■ Terri Janison, the head of Sandoval's Las Vegas office and president of the Clark County School Board.

■ Steve Hill, senior vice president of the CalPortland Co. and a member of the board of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.

■ Tom Kerr, senior vice president, Newmont Mining Corp.

■ Tammy Dermody, owner of Walton's Funeral Homes.

■ Tony Alamo Sr., former executive of Mandalay Resort Group.

■ Somer Hollingsworth, president of the Nevada Development Authority.

■ Terry Johnson, former Nevada labor commissioner.

■ Barbara Smith Campbell, former chairwoman of the Nevada Tax Commission and owner of Consensus LLC.

■ Chris Collins, executive director of the Las Vegas Police Protective Association.

■ Denny Voreck, teacher at Liberty High School in Henderson who founded the Clark County Deaf Caucus.

■ Duncan Lee, president of RDL Investments.

■ Jim Gibson, former Henderson mayor.

■ Joe Crowley, former president of the University of Nevada, Reno.

■ Pat Mulroy, general manager of the Southern Nevada Water Authority.

■ Scott Nielsen, executive vice president of Station Casinos.

■ Michael Yackira, president of NV Energy.

■ Aldo Aguirre, principal, Alianza Consulting Group.

■ Brett Coleman, investor owner, Mercedes Benz of Reno.

■ Rick Trachok, shareholder, Jones Vargas, Reno.

■ Rick Reviglio, owner, Western Nevada Supply.

■ Monte Miller, CEO, Key-State Corporation Management.

■ Ken Wiles, managing director, Acceleron Group.

■ Jay Barrett, officer, Marnell Companies.

■ Heath Morrison, superintendent of Washoe County School District.

■ Estela Gutierrez, president, Washoe County School Board.

■ Gail Jaquish, co-founder, Jaquish & Kenninger Foundation.
