Twelve people indicted in prescription drug case

Twelve Las Vegas residents were indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday on charges related to illegally acquiring and distributing painkillers.

The suspects used advanced technology to forge at least 100 prescriptions and acquired more than 19,000 pills including 17,280 pills of Oxycodone, the indictment alleges.

The drugs had an estimated street value of about $700,000, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
