Vacancy at assistant Clark County manager filled by promotion

Randy Tarr has been promoted to assistant Clark County manager.

Tarr, 46, replaces Phil Rosenquist, who retired April 30.

Tarr has worked for the county almost 20 years and has been the head of the real property management division since 2008.

His annual salary will be increased from $145,000 to $151,000. Rosenquist earned $191,000 last year.

Tarr will be one of two assistant county managers. A third position has been kept vacant since Darryl Martin left last year.

Tarr will oversee an array of departments, including public works, comprehensive planning, development services, business licensing and air quality. He also will be the county manager's representative for the Regional Transportation Commission, the Regional Flood Control District and the Southern Nevada Health District.
