Victim identified; suspect charged after calling police

The 52-year-old woman who was killed Monday in what police believe was a domestic dispute was identified as Denise Lee Ebarb by the Clark County coroner's office.

Ebarb was found shot to death at her home, 7824 Brookfield Cove Ave., near Grand Teton Drive and Cimarron Road.

Kelly Jeder Dicaro, 51, was arrested in connection with Ebarb's death. According to his arrest report, he called police at 1:25 p.m. claiming that he just shot his girlfriend and had shot himself in the throat.

He told police he shot her in the head with a rifle from a second-floor landing in the home, the report states. Ebarb was found dead in the kitchen of the home.

Dicaro would not say why he shot her, saying only that she "did something worse than cheating on him," according to the report.

He was taken to University Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury and booked in absentia for murder with a deadly weapon.
