Week in Review: Reporters’ Notebook

Election Day is just around the corner, and while opinion polls have offered conflicting information, one Las Vegas mayoral candidate had a clear edge in the social media race.

As of 2 p.m. Friday, Carolyn Goodman had 1,932 Twitter followers, well ahead of Chris Giunchigliani's 1,124. Goodman also had 1,895 Facebook page "likes," while Giunchigliani had 1,550 Facebook friends.

Giunchigliani, though, had a narrow edge in tweets sent: 704 to Goodman's 673.

Ah, social media: Now wasting your time in the print edition, too.

Because he got credit for time served -- 713 days -- Weaver will become eligible for parole next week.
