What would Congress do? Print money, of course

Clark County just sent out a tweet. You know what a tweet is, right?

This one says, "County Commission Chairman Rory Reid calls 2 p.m. news conf. to unveil plan to cut costs, streamline County gov't & address UMC woes."

Right after that came this note, "County faces $70 million shortfall this year and $126 million shortfall next year due to economic conditions."

Due to economic conditions? Yes, the revenue, which is predicated largely on the property value of local businesses and residences and the tax on sales, will not be enough to cover what the county has previously committed to spend.

Since most the county budget goes to personnel, which one will it be? Pay cuts or layoffs? Unlike Congress, they can't just print money.

The unions will have some tough choices to make.
