Woman dies after being struck by car, law enforcement vehicle
PAHRUMP -- The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating after a civilian car and a Nye County Sheriff's Office vehicle fatally struck a woman in Pahrump.
Officials say the woman was walking along State Route 160 near Wheeler Pass Road at about 8 p.m. Tuesday when she was hit by a vehicle and left lying in a southbound lane.
She was then hit again by a sheriff's office vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say the woman's name and other details about the crash won't be released until the NHP completes an investigation and notifies the victim's family.
The officer involved is on paid administrative leave and will be identified Friday.
